MozArt Ensemble is a music ensemble formed for the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and it has been originated putting together a jazz group, the Toni Moretti Quintet and a string quartet. The ensemble presents a free interpretation of themes from Mozart’s “Il Flauto Magico”,, with the idea of a meeting between two music formations, the jazz and the classical one.
The version proposed by MozArt Ensemble is entirely instrumental and completely rearranged by the musicians; the pieces taken into account represent only a starting point from which the musicians gain inspiration to give life to a free interpretation of the opera. The concert is a continuous alternating between classical language and jazz approaches over the themes of the opera; this dialogue can flow into long energy charged improvisations and extremely delicate moments where the two worlds tend to melt looking for a new sound.
MozArt Ensemble intends offering the audience the opportunity to face the music of Mozart in a non-traditional and new way, loaded of strong expressiveness. MozArt Ensemble MozArt Ensemble is the continuation of the Jazz Quintet + Quartetto d’Archi artistic project, born in 2003 from the idea of double bass player Toni Moretti. The debut goes back to July 2006 with a concert at the Palazzo Toaldi-Capra di Schio, in cooperation with Associazione Mozart Italia, Comunità Montana and the sponsorship of the council of Schio, while last December has performed a charity concert for Pro Rett organization at the Astra theatre of Schio (VI), and recently has performed at the Remondini theatre in Bassano (VI).
